She is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Counselor Education in Gainesville Florida. She is also an adjunct assistant professor at St. Leo University in Lake City, Florida. She is a National Certified Counselor and also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Dr. Sarkis received a 2001 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Psychiatric Association for her research on comorbid ADHD and brain function.
